I have to say, this year’s BEA felt particularly wonderful. It was great to spend time with authors, booksellers, and publishing peeps who I don’t always get to see throughout the year. For all the time spent planning BEA, the actual event goes by in a blur. So it’s lovely that John Green was able to capture his slice of the action on video. If I ever forgot that I attempted a Vanna White impression, this video is testament to my terrible rendition.

This was a Wes Anderson week. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob Balaban, author of the upcoming middle grade series The Creature from the Seventh Grade, at a BEA party and he was a delight. Last night I saw Moonrise Kingdom in a packed theatre at BAM. Spent much of the evening debating where it ranks in the list of favorite Wes Anderson movies. If someone held a Wes Anderson film festival I’d be there in a flash.
